Your help is needed this week for impeachment.

 

On April 16 the New Hampshire State Legislature is expected to vote on HR24, articles of impeachment against Cheney and Bush, which, if it passes, will immediately route the bill into Congress as a priveleged resolution.

 

In a conference call, impeachment activists in NH and elsewhere explained how citizens around the country can help HR24 pass.  Passage requires 202 votes--they believe they are either close or have surpassed that number.

They are asking us to contact NH State Representatives via phone, fax, or email to show support.  They stressed that NH Reps are aware of the historic importance of this move, and as a result may be sensitive or even nervous about non-NH people being too dogmatic or pushy.  Perhaps mention to them that we are taking similar action in our State, their actions are in the entire country's interest, and we see NH's leadership as a model for the rest of the country to follow soon after.  It helps to state you name, State, and city.  Keep your message brief, such as a few sentences--a sample script can be found at:

To help distribute the workload more evenly (ie so we're not all calling only the first Reps in the list), it is recommended that you proceed alphabetically, starting with the Reps whose last name begins with the first letter of your last name.  Even if you contact only one Rep it greatly helps the cause!

 

A complete list of NH legislators, including political party affiliation, is available.  It may be good for non-NH residents to focus on Democrats, since they may be more supportive, and therefore less ruffled by out-of-state interference.  The list is posted at:

Lastly, on April 14 there will be a rally in NH where Representatives are invited to learn more about the need for impeachment.  The impressive list of speakers addressing the Reps include Bruce Fein, Daniel Ellsberg, John Nichols, and more.  Maybe we can call-in to the rally to show support.
