National Impeachment Conversation between impeach groups

Michael and all,
[I added people to the email list; hope that's ok]

We're not stopping here in the Bay Area, nor is CodePink stopping its national efforts to start impeachment hearings for Cheney: hunger fast (600 people), Conyers' office. Here we're working on six strategies:

1. Attempting to get the Nixon Flooding Plan going, starting with Barbara Lee, Lynn Woolsey and Pete Stark, local Congress members who (supposedly) support impeachment. If one or more of them will introduce their own resolutions that could get the flood rolling. Barbara Lee is our best hope, in my judgment, as I know her to take courageous and humanitarian stands regardless of the political fallout from the national Democratic leadership. Her seat is completely safe. At her town hall earlier this year Sean Penn and Daniel Ellsberg stood on the stage and made very strong arguments for impeachment, which were met by wild cheers from the 400+ people in the audience.
What I'm very puzzled about is why Wexler, Gutierrez, Baldwin and the other members of the Judiciary Committee who want immediate hearings don't "hopper" their own resolutions for hearings.

2. Including the economic crimes of this administration as another reason for impeachment, as we totally agree with Michael that when peoples' pocketbooks and local governments' budgets are impacted by these crimes, there will be a larger outcry than with the war crimes and other constitutional violations.

3. Getting the huge anti-war movement in the Bay Area to actively work for immediate impeachment hearings. The potential for this is very good; we need to plug them in to take action THIS MONTH, as time is short and we need that immense energy to help the hearings start. To that end, David Swanson is doing a West Coast Tour and speaking on impeachment in Ventura, San Luis Obispo and the Bay Area, where there are strong impeachment groups. Our Bay Area event description is below.
One of the biggest hooks is the immediate attack on Iran. The anti-war movement talks about what their response will be when the attack starts. I'm trying to get them to prevent the attack by investigating Cheney immediately. There are clear signs that we may already be too late, but we have to do everything to stop this and Cheney's other heinous criminal actions.

4. Supporting efforts to pass NH R.24 with calling or any other work we're asked to do by the folks there.

5. Getting cities here to pass resolutions calling for the indictment of Bush
and Cheney, starting with Berkeley, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and Humboldt (Eureka).

6. Working to get Shirley Golub (June primary) and Cindy Sheehan (Nov. election) elected to Nancy Pelosi's seat. And helping other candidates running against "progressive" Democrats who refuse to impeach.

To be sent to judiciary, Kucinich, Wexler, Pelosi, Ron Paul, McCain, Obama, Clinton,

(I am not saying we should abandon the existing articles for impeachment, but we must introduce the economic crimes in order to rally the masses)
