Thanks for sending this information Michael.
I found someone to video the event but want more than one person. Can you also video or ask someone? The video will be posted to afterdowningstreet, codepinkalert, indybay and other sites you suggest.
The Grand Lake has a DVD player and that's it. I'm making a DVD for the portion of the program honoring impeachment heroes. We're doing a walk-through of the theater Monday. I'll ask then if we can use a digital projector. There is no internet in the theater so I won't be able to show YouTube clips.
I agree with you completely that the case for impeachment needs to be widened to include economic crimes. I also think we should partner with conservatives who want impeachment for violations of the constitution, such as Bruce Fein.
I invited you to speak for 3 minutes only because the program is very full and the timing very precise. I've asked the speakers to keep their remarks to 3 minutes, which is what Shirley, Max Anderson (Berkeley City Council) and Cindy Sheehan have. The exceptions are David Swanson, who will speak for 15-20 mins., and the panel-- Swanson, Ellsberg, Sweet, Burk, and Benjamin-- who will discuss impeachment prospects and action strategies for about 25 minutes.
Remember that the Town Hall is "Are Peace and Impeachment Possible?", so you will be speaking to an audience of peace activists who want the Iraq war ended. They need to know that there ARE economic crimes, but we need a whole other town hall to get into the details-- and I really think there should be another program for that.
I can't open the video, but the articles are great.

Hi Cynthia & Shirley,
If possible I would like to have 5-10 minutes to speak. I believe that it is imperative that we increase the base of impeachment supporters. I also believe Shirley's campaign is the best chance we have for impeachment or at least Bush & Cheney's resignations. The Play is also an excellent idea. We should make sure every night is sold out, demonstrations are outside with people who are dressed up, shaven (presentable). FREE special tickets and acknowledments should be provided for all government officials who attend. Will call attendants can ask who is attending on behalf of Newsom, Dellums, Barbara Lee, etc. Hopefully the government officials will attend, but if not even their reps should be acknowledged. These people need to be invited on behalf of Shirley Golub.
We can use the Wiki to organize people and make sure that our efforts are not duplicated. See Nixon Flooding Plan
http://impeach.wikia.com/wiki/State
We could set up pages so that everyone knows who has been contacted and their responses. We can provide a demonstration during the Town Hall.
Who is going to video the event? It should be rebroadcast for the entire World to see!!!
I also think the play should include a scene or at least address the economic crimes.
The economic crimes are more mainstream and will galvanize support. All local governments are facing huge budget shortfalls (CA $18 billion, SF has clearly peaked, SJ is facing huge problems). The fall out from many years of fraudulent lending has only begun. We need accountability and diplomacy or the next World War will ensue from all of our unsustainable debt blowing up.
A friend of mine Danny Schecter was asked by Chairman Conyers to provide a special screening for House members this week.

1) Bush issued a directive to the FBI to NOT prosecute fraud for housing during the 2004 election year.
2) Bush, Paulson and Fed stole the purse to bribe JPMorgan to bail out Bear Stearns.

3) Bush and the OCC stopped state AGs from protecting their citizens (Spitzer)

Currently, impeachment is rooted in issues surrounding "national security" war, torture, wire tapping, etc. People have war fatigue and don't like to face the facts of what our country has done. The effects of these unconscionable crimes have yet to directly effect our citizens. The FED could have continued printing money to fund the War, but when you have millions of people losing their homes and massive declines in equity; these losses are more immediate and felt by citizens.
There is NO REASON for our government to have silently watched hundreds of millions become enslaved by the banking industry.
Pelosi's stimulus package ($600 is a joke) The real motivation of the package was to open up the flood gates at FHA, Fannie & Freddie. A substantial portion of the toxic debt is now being moved in larger amounts ($729,750) from the banks to the tax payers (FHA) or more centralized locations (Fannie & Freddie) easier to manipulate and conceal losses.
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS AND SHOULD BE ONE OF THE FOCUSES OF SHIRLEY GOLUB'S PLATFORMS!!!
We need to rise above and embrace all Americans. (Republicans, Democrats, Greens, etc) Perhaps at the town hall we could show this video. I have a digital projector if needed. It would be very pathetic if this is something that is standing in between us and our Constitution.

Rep. Baldasaro who is in the lead for trying to kill HR24 was passing
this video out last night at the Ellsberg event, on the sidewalk out
front. He sent me a pretty nice agree to disagree email, and the
link to the video online. A slick production that obviously took some
money. I can't hear it on my computer but it looks like one of these
'democrats wanted to attack Iraq also' spins. Counterspin: Yea but
Bush was madman crazy enough to do it.
